About BeOS Programmer's Cheatsheets:
Quick reference guide to the BeOS API
Note: The "BeOS Programmer's Cheatsheets" is a quick reference to the BeOS programming API that has been available from eMatter for $5 for the past year. It sold far better than I had expected and now that the current version has been out for a year I've decided to release it to the BeOS community for free.
This document is a PDF file which may be viewed under BeOS with BePDF or under Windows or MacOS with Acrobat Reader. It is intended to be printed, so a printer is strongly recommended.
The BeOS Programmer's Cheatsheets is a quick reference guide that makes
programming for BeOS easier. It is something
no BeOS programmer should be without, whether
you are a beginner or expert. The sheets are a quick reference of every
class, function, constant, and object of the
BeOS R4 API for most of the commonly used kits:
- The Kernel Kit
- The Support Kit
- The Mail Kit
- The Interface Kit
- The Application Kit
- The Storage Kit
- The Media Kit (high level API only)
- The Device Kit (joystick and serial port)
There are about 30 pages total. There is a carefully organized table
for each class and structure,
listing each member object member function with its parameters.
Only the information you need is included, private and legacy
declarations are not listed. The names of member objects are highlighted
for easy reading. Notes and comments to help you use functions
properly and avoid common pitfalls. Each table also tells you
what header file you need to include and each sheet tells you
what library you need to link.
This document is a PDF file which may be viewed under BeOS with BePDF or Acrobat Reader for Windows and Mac.
I've had a couple inquiries about paying for the Cheatsheets even though the download is now free. If you want to support this BeOS publication, you can send me $5 or whatever you think it's worth using paypal to "orrd101@yahoo.com". This is entirely optional.
