About w3m web browser:
w3m is a pager and text-based web browser. It is similar to lynx but has several advantages.
- w3m can render tables.
- w3m can render frames. (it converts the frames into a table)
- w3m can display documents given from standard input easily.
- w3m can display shift-JIS, JIS, and EUC-JP Japanese. (you need Japanese fonts in Terminal for this to work)
- w3m is small.

Details about this version:
A quick tip to get started: to enter a URL, type U. That's a capital letter U (hold down shift, press "u"). Then, when you type the url, type http:// first, duhh ;-) It's all in the documentation, but this is super handy knowledge to get started quickly.
Akinori Ito, the author of w3m, says:
I don't intend w3m to be a substitute for any other browsers, including Netscape and Lynx. Why did I write w3m? Because I felt inconvenienced with conventional browsers to `take a look' at web pages. I am browsing web pages in LAN environment. When I want to take a glance at a web page, I don't want to wait to start up Netscape. Lynx also takes a few seconds to start up. On the other hand, w3m starts immediately with little load to the host machine. After looking at the information using w3m, I use other browser if I want to read the the page in detail. As for me, however, w3m is enough to read most of web pages.
