About Cygnus-X1:
A simple game with 3D graphics and sound effects. Dodge the asteroids and pick up the fuel crystals to continue playing. Source included.
Cygnus X-1 is a simple game that uses 3D graphics, background music, and sound effects. I started this project in early 2000, intending to write an article about how easy game programming is for BeOS. Unfortunately I don't see any reason to finish it until something changes in the status of BeOS. So here it is in a raw state for your enjoyment/education. Source code is included.
Note: This game is not much fun. It was designed to be an educational tool rather than a good game.
Note 2: Because I never finished the article or even the code, this is not really a good programming example. It has a few shortcuts that I threw in at the last minute, and it isn't documented well. It also has at least one known bug.. it sometimes hangs if you quit in the middle of the game.
Note 3: This game is not fun and is not a good example of coding. Why are you still here?
