About open:
"open" is a small utility that opens files from the shell.
It's similar with making a symlink to Tracker, but it's not dependent on the location or even the existance of Tracker (it uses the application roster if Tracker is not there).
You can open files, directories in Tracker, and applications using their signature, e.g. application/x-vnd.Be-POST for the mail_daemon.
It's somewhat missing in the standard BeOS release (as it is also the counterpart to "quit"), so I am releasing it here.
