About AthlonXP/MP/Duron Patcher:
This little windows application will patch your BeOS 5 Personal Edition for the use with an Athlon XP/MP or Duron processor.
It has a GUI from where you choose the patch way (Intel -> AMD or AMD -> Intel), the patch mode (simple for a fast patch on unused PE files and an extended mode that searchs the whole file, for used PE's).
Patch instructions:
1. Install the BeOS PE with the downloaded installer or backup your image.be file if you allready used it and don't like the risk of loosing anything
2. Start the athlonxppatch.exe
3. Hit "Search" and browse to your image.be file (usually in the 'x:\beos' folder on the drive where you have installed it)
4. Select "Patch for AMD" if you intend to use it on one of the supported AMD processors or "Patch for Intel" if you want to undo a patch
5. Hit the "Patch!" button and watch the "Status" text
If the patch is successful you can go ahead and try out your BeOS PE.
If not, the app will show you an error message. If it doesn't find the original string, you can try the "Extended Patch" by checking the box and using the "Patch!" button again.
If it still doesn't work, check if the file is write protected and no other application is blocking it.
I hope this app will be useful, but don't blame me if it screws up your image.be, does something else that wasn't described here or the patch simply doesn't work, there is no warranty.
