About Echo Audio driver:
This is a multiaudio driver for Echo Audio cards.
It supports Echo Audio cards. It's based on the Echo Audio Generic Driver.
Features :
- Playback and record
- tested OK on a Gina3g on R5 (with Haiku MultiAudio media addon), CLAmp, SoundRecorder
- default output is to be chosen with the Media preferences panel (Haiku's one can help)
- all available output/input streams are published as 16 bits/stereo/48kHz.
- MIDI support (only MIDI IN tested)
The LATEST Multiaudio MediaAddon is REQUIRED for better experience (see related links below). Please report your experience (success and fail) with your card model and driver version.
The driver is known to work with the following cards :
* Gina3g
Problems :
* Note on the audio quality : It seems the audio mixer included in BeOSR5 is not good at samplerate conversion 44khz - 48 khz. In Dano there are several conversion methods which fix this problem.
* Reported bugs include noise on recording, KDL with echo24

Layla24 & Mona Laptop Adapters and FireWire products are not supported.

* we only expose first two digital channels when card is echo3g and rate is more than 50000, it's a restriction noticed in C3g::Start(). It should enable playback/record at 88/92kHz (untested).
* now tested (only 3g) with 32 and 24 bits (needs a new haiku multi.media_addon and a new haiku mixer.media_addon)
