About bf:
bf is a very minimalist programming language, with only 8 instructions, none of which has any parameter. Real RISC for real geeks.
bf is one of those toys that only geeks can understand. It's useless, time-consuming, and incredibly hard to master.
bf is (obviously) almost unusable for anything fancier than Hello, World! (and even that is not so easy).
Although very small, bf is what's called a Turing-complete language, i.e. it belongs to the same class of programming languages as C, C++, pascal, etc..., which means that any program written in C++ can (theoretically) be compiled into bf, and vice-versa. Hardcore computer scientists will enjoy that.
bf is not the real name of this language, but censorship prevents me from putting its real name online, where it could permanently hurt a huge number of innocent souls. If you really want to know it's real name is, download the package, read all the ReadMe files, and you'll know. If you are a real geek (and only a real geek could care about bf anyway), you shouldn't be too offended.
