Free BeOS R5 is here! (update) |

March 28, 2000:
As most of you know by now, the free version of BeOS R5 has been released! We have a list of download locations available here. Your download might be a bit slow, though - from what we've been hearing, nearly all the download sites are getting flooded.
On that note, BeBits is getting hit pretty hard as well, so things might be a tad sluggish. Please bear with us - the current version of BeBits (the one you're looking at right now) was never designed to take this kind of abuse. We've learned a lot since then, though; the ever-elusive BeBits 2.0 is much faster will be able to handle this sort of thing with ease. We've had some delays and setbacks with 2.0, but it's very, very close to being finished - so keep watching. It'll be here before you know it! Now, everybody go grab R5!
Update: We've done a bit of tweaking on the server, and now it should be quite a bit faster for most of you. We'll keep working on it, though.
