Sales update and other fun stuff |

Our spiffy e-commerce services have been up and running for over a month now, so we thought we'd take a minute or two and let everybody know how things are going. Lately, some people have questioned whether the members of the BeOS community are willing to actually pay for decent software, instead of just talking about it. Well, we're happy to report that at least some of you are!
After more than one month of operation, we've had dozens of sales. We now have 15 different applications for sale (we started with just three) and the sales total is quickly approaching $1,000. We've been busy improving things, too: all the technical issues we know of have been fixed, and we now accept all major credit cards. More applications and improvements are on the way all the time! The latest additions are SharesManager, Ultimate HTML Optimizer (with a special price for BeBits users!), and the long-awaited Rack747.
In time, we plan to get a "BeOS Best Sellers" page going; until then, here's a list of the top-selling products on BeBits:

4. Binkjet Printer Driver
5. Boom
So, if you've been thinking about buying some BeOS software, go right ahead. If enough BeOS users show that they're willing to support BeOS developers where it counts, then we should see the platform really take off!
Other site news: it may seem slow around here, but we've been busy. We're hard at work on a new, mysterious technology called TARP that will soon make BeBits far more powerful. You won't be able to "see" TARP in action - it works entirely behind the scenes - but before long, TARP will enable us to add all kinds of nifty stuff to BeBits. Stay tuned!
