E-Commerce, Inside BeOS, and Headlines |

December 3, 2000:
This is just a short update, mainly because we haven't posted anything for a while. There are a few items of note:
1. Our e-commerce system is exactly 6 months old! We originally launched it on June 3, 2000. There have been a few glitches, but after a major rewrite or two, things are finally working smoothly. So far, our total sales amount to $11,726.68. Maybe we'll have a party or something one of these days, but if you want to have your own little celebration, how about buying something? :-)
2. According to an article on BeGroovy, Inside BeOS magazine finished its print run this week and is shipping right now... so if you've ordered it, you should be receiving it before too long. Also, 25-30 more sales are required to break even in Europe. So if you're a European user who likes BeOS, now would be a great time to grab a copy! You can do that right here.
3. Several of you have e-mailed to let us know that BeNews is currently in an advanced state of disfunctionality. (In English: BeNews is broken right now. :-) Sorry, but we don't know what's going on either. For now, we're going to display BeGroovy headlines instead. Once BeNews comes back up, we may start displaying headlines randomly or something; eventually, those of you with a BeBits account will be able to choose which news headlines you want displayed. This is actually something we've been meaning to do for a while now.
4. On a more personal note, our little European trip will be coming to an end in a few weeks. This means that before long, we will be able to respond to e-mail and site issues more quickly. We've tried to keep everything working smoothly whilst we were out experiencing culture and that sort of thing, but if we accidentally let something slide, we sincerely apologize. We've really appreciated your patience!
That's all for now. As always, if there are any improvements we can make to the site, or anything else we can do that would help out the BeOS community, please let us know! We can't do everything, but we seriously consider every idea we get. Thanks for using BeBits!
