Currently I am using the 2.1-SUH distribution. It has Bethon 0.3.0. Trying to run a test app and I get
$ python HelloWorld.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "HelloWorld.py", line 11, in ?
class HelloWindow(BWindow):
TypeError: base is not a class object
And a similar error with 2.2.2 and Bethon 0.5.0.
Any thoughts, ideas?
Mike

Dear all,
I'd like to propose a mailing list for Bethon for users to share experiences. Please contact me if you're interested.
Thanx

I had the same problem as pazani (/mkdef: ./xxsym: Symbol not found) eventually traced it to BONE. To work around did a
~/net_switch/setnetserver
built bethon OK then went back to BONE again (setbone)

libmail.so could not be found when I built it for PPC. The solution was to put a symlink from the shared library under /boot/beos/system/lib/ to /boot/develop/lib/ppc. Maybe you're having the same issue but getting different feedback?

Do a make and inevitably I get:
./mkdef: ./xxsym: Symbol not found
...and it exits. It generates an empty .py file for the kit.

a wrapper for the BeAPI.
with the Bethon modules you can code a GUI and use other stuff from the BeAPI without using C++
|
|
| How am I supposed to use this stuff? |

I mean, what -is- this stuff? "Python is not included". So, if Python is not included, what are these? Python is, I guess, the Python programming language interpreter. Why do I need these particular modules? Are they like some sorts of function libraries? What is that is common to these Bethon things?

I am still trying to figure out a few of the tests, but build errors are the ones that were expected, and the modules seem to behave properly. Built using R5.0.3PPC with Python 2.1. Great job, Donn!
