Peter: I have received two e-mails from you, but it doesn't include a reply-adress, and I only see your name in the from-field.
Can you please mail a valid e-mail adress to marco@ormgas.com?

oh, no I don't. Seems like it's still the same on x86 R5 and it doesn't work at all in Dano.
Strange. I've mailed the Mail Daemon Replacent team, but I haven't got a reply.
I'll fix it asap :)

Thanks! I peeked at the code and replaced:
set_keyboard_locks
with:
::set_keyboard_locks
And it seems to work now.. For some strange reason :D
I'll post a new version right away.

I just remembered Mail Daemon replacement activates keyboard lights when something downloads, and does not suck out the power on a BeBox, maybe it would be helpfull to look in that code.

Yes, I know. And for XMMS in Linux too.
I'm actually searching for info right now to see if it's possible to manipulate the keyboard with ioctl calls.
As long as I have to go through the BeOS API you won't be able to type :)

There is a winamp plugin for windows that does the exact same thing except for you can actually type and use the caps/num/scroll keys etc.

Almost usable on the BeBox soon :)

I've made some changes (or rather removing stupid code that didn't do anything but eating cpu-power) to enhance the speed.
Now you can almost play mp3s and have this plugin activated ;)
Expect a new release of this totally usable plugin within a few days :)

Okay Good Point,

you could do the same thing in most other operating systems :) I remember seeing it in linux.. and windows probably has one too.

doesn't change the fact that BeOS rocks though :)

Very Cool
