I'm happy that you liked my BeY! and I am also happy that I have stimulated you to continue Bme but in fact your project have stimulated me to make BeY!:D. That's not a textview, it's a NetPositive replicant. This is an excellent solution, but it's also buggy because it can overload with text and become very slowly. We need HTML class renderer to do a good work :|

tried your BeY! client today: it rocks! nice graphics too! can't wait till you open source it, the textview with emoticon support works very well! I imagine it has cost you some work to implement it! would be nice if I could add it to Bme too...oh and btw ftp:// links don't work yet ;)
keep up the good work! you even made me more enthousiastic to continue my work on Bme :)
regards,
Tim

I was planning to implement a listview that could change names(or in Bme's case groups) with a double click that made the name editable...I think both messengers could use a listview like that, right? so maybe we can do some coding together, exchanging UI parts,

Tim

Is it possible to rename a "buddy" from the list but without changing his actual ID ...
? Example rather than seeing IDs like bsfh40395830@yahoo.com to some meaningful name ?

hey thanks now it works! Something interesting- the mouse hover option over a contact, the box that comes up is the slightest bit transparent. That's cool, is that a first on BeOS? I would like to see it more transparent.
Anychance of making this a replicant (like a hide to tray icon) or account management (so that it remembers the last user info or logs in automatically? Great so far I and I can't wait for the improvements in the next version.

Yahoo ID - the ID of the friend you want to add
Message - is the message you what to send to the friend when adding it (not obligatory) ex:"Hello!"
Group - is the group where the friend is added

The startup screen will be a lot better in the new version, for sure :D
The Mail problem it's a bit weird.
If you are using Zeta probably it's normal because this version it's not compiled on Zeta. I will compile a Zeta version sooner.
(Try to look at the "E-mail" file type and set a Preferred Application, if it's not set.)

Certainly this is one of the best looking IM clients for BeOS around, and supports more functions then even Jabber does for Yahoo. It apears stable and looks professional.
The one thing I found was irritating was that although BeMail is configured as the default BeOS mail client configured here, this client refused to acknolledge it and reported a "No Email Client Default" or similar error message.
As a matter of personal preference, the statup screen does look a bit plain.
However, I will give this 8/10, it does what it should, with the minimum of fuss and does it quickly. Truly BeOS like in its interface response.
Well done that man :-)
