Hi! This program is totally great and now it works perfectly in my ZETA-PC. Unfortunately, I miss a help guide (I don't know how to use some options, for example "Sort Songs" option) and also I miss having the option of configure the gui adding or deleting some odd columns (I prefer having only playing list columns as in Itunes, for example). I'll buy it soon :) Sure. Thanks!

Near the middle of the window there are the titles, such as 'Album' 'Artist' 'Title' and 'Version' . Version is halfway cut off and clicking on it is what causes the problem to occur. This causes an instant-quit or crash of the app. This is on a clean install of Zebona, first run.

I had the same stack crawl, investigating zenebona conf file I found that this app searchs its share folder in /boot/apps/Music/, while it was placed in /boot/apps, editing manually this file didn't work, then I made a new folder in /boot/apps, this way I had it working...

I have the BeOS beta kits installed, including the updated media kit, I think this is why it won't work. Songs cannot start to play, altough every other app that uses sound works.

Hi,
I've tried to run under Zeta 1.1, but when I try to run the app, the message "libtag is missing" appears.
Where I can get it ?
I've search in beshare, and here in bebits.
Have a nice day.

Yesterday I recieved a mail with the login & link for the full version.
Zenebona seems to be able to rip into ogg.
My ogg files previously made with TunePrepper are not recognized by Z. (?)
When I play a CD the CDDB track info is not displayed
in the Z.-playlist nor in the Z.-player, just "track01, track02...etc.
If I rip the CD into mp3, the track info appears in the playlist and player.
thanks & regards

re: Koki
Apologies, I didn't realise about the lack of iPod read support. I must stress, I *haven't* tested this app (would like to), so I'm not claiming to be an authority figure here. However, replace "iPod" with <insert other personal jukebox that's not quite so unfriendly to third parties integrating with it> and the point still stands. I think.
ID3 = great for platform independence, rubbish for speed. BeFS attributes = great for speed, rubbish for platform independence. It, in a nutshell, was what I was trying to point out.
It's a great looking app, and I hope it's a sign of a future apps to come.

Agreed. That would be the ideal situation. However...
> ...but as the iPod intergration suggests
iPod support is read-only, which means you can't synch with your iPod, so whether ID3 tags are added or not becomes irrelevant (unless I am missing something).

re Koki
Ultimately, it should do both. (MYOB's gonna love me...) For speed and BeOS/Zeta cohesion, it should be using native attributes, but as the iPod intergration suggests, your music files may well be moving around to any iPod aware OS, in which case you need your ID3 tags kept up to date. Perhaps it could read the ID3 tags when the files are dragged into the library, make the appropriate attributes and then use them. Upon exit from the program, the ID3 tags are written to file, should there be any changes. If you're using an iPod as your sole vessel of digital media, ID3 tags might be your only option. This is all said as someone who hasn't used the program, but more as an inference of what Koki was posting about.
I'm in the business of digital media, so I welcome as much diversity and software choice as there can be. Kudos on what looks like a great program, and when I (if I) finally get around to buying Zeta, I'll be sure to give this a try. R5 support would be nice in the interim.

...I guess a lot of ppl have been waiting for something like that!
I've ordered right away and can't wait to try out the full version.
There are some things I'd like to comment.
1. I mounted an audio cd and cddblink immediately fetched the track infos. Unfortunately these infos didn't show up in when I loaded the CD into Zenebona.
2. Could you implement ogg support (vorbis, FLAC) too please?
3. You could increase revenue, if you offered support for BeOS Pro, PE and clones, 5.1d0....
I was told it wouldn't even run on older ZETA versions (?)
Anyway, thanks & keep on coding!

This is a nice app, but it should use BFS attributes to store all the track info, so that queries can be used outside of the apps to search/organize the library of music files. As it is now, you can only search for tracks/files inside Zenebona, which is not exactly the BeOS/ZETA way.
One little quirck that I noticed: Zenebona does not show up in the "Recent Applications" menu (at least not in ZETA 1.1 here).
You may also want add a setting to specify where the tracks are stored; some people may want to store their library in a different drive, or on a folder other than "Musics" (which, btw, I believe should be "Music").
Good work!

To RoGer:
I sadly can't test your work, because I'm on plain R5 PE. But I want to say something anyway:
Please disregard nonsense comments. Any BeOS (Zeta in this case) related project is welcomed by the vast majority of us, be it commercial or not.
Anyone with "two fingers of forehead" knows that hard work deserves compensation.
Good luck!
